Emirates has signed an agreement with Teledyne Controls to equip its Boeing 777-300ER aircraft (pending delivery) with Teledyne’s GroundLink technology.

Teledyne GroundLink is a multi-application communication system that automates the downloading of essential flight data from an aircraft after each flight. It supports the very latest flight data monitoring (FDM) and maintenance applications.

The GroundLink Comm+ technology provides aircraft operators with a solution to wirelessly connect aircraft equipment with airline’s back office systems.

It features multiple channels of cellular (3G/4G) high-speed data, and is available as factory-fit from Boeing, Airbus and Embraer on new aircraft and can be retrofitted on all major commercial aircraft types.

Jean-Louis Lugan, director of sales at Teledyne Controls, said: “Emirates has chosen a genuine world industry leader: With more than 7,500 aircraft equipped, our technology is proven to make a significant contribution to further improving operational performance.

This news comes less than a month after Teledyne announced that it is to partner with Panasonic Avionics to develop an integrated connectivity solution that will enable real-time operational aircraft data transfers during flight.
