Did you know that “Get Connected” has a smartphone-friendly version of its inflight connectivity news service?

Anyone visiting GetConnected.aero with their iPhone, Android or other mobile device will automatically see the simplified smartphone-friendly edition.

Managing Editor Steve Nichols said that the service had been introduced due to the large numbers of visitors using their smartphone to get the latest inflight Wi-FI connectivity and aircraft E-enablement news.

“Around 3% of visitors use their smartphone,” Steve said. “But it was hard to view the whole site on a small screen. So we simplified the layout and made it display only the top 20 stories.

“And anyone who wishes to view the site normally can just click a link at the top or bottom of the page to see the desktop version.”

If you want to add a “Get Connected” icon to your iPhone screen, just click on the middle button on the bottom row in Safari and select “Add to Home Screen”. On a Chrome-equipped tablet you can also use use “Add to Home screen”.

Visitors using tablets (that’s about 5% of you) should automatically see the full edition. If you don’t let us know as we have to add code to the site for all types of devices – we just need to know what tablet you have.

GetConnected.aero has become the number one internet site for people wanting to find out more about inflight connectivity news, having more than 9,000 page views a month and around 4,000 users.

As well as in-depth news from the major shows like AIX Hamburg, Ebace and Apex Expo, it also has regular in-depth features and a free monthly e-newsletter.
