Embraer today announced the recent delivery of its first new production Legacy 450 business jet with the Gogo AVANCE L5 inflight connectivity product. Embraer has also completed its first retrofit of a Lineage 1000E business jet with Gogo AVANCE SCS Elite – its integrated cabin, inflight entertainment (IFE) and voice solution

Earlier this year AVANCE SCS Elite was certified as baseline equipment on the Lineage 1000E.

AVANCE L5, the latest connectivity system from Gogo Business Aviation is now being installed as a factory option on new production Legacy 450 and Legacy 500 business jets.

Gogo’s SCS (Smart Cabin System) router is a standard option on both Legacy models as baseline equipment.

Luciano Froes, Senior Vice President-Marketing, Embraer Executive Jets, said: “In-flight connectivity is key for a premium customer experience and we are thrilled to deliver Gogo’s AVANCE L5 as a line-fit solution for our Legacy 450 and Legacy 500 customers.

“By incorporating innovative technologies that increase productivity and enhance entertainment, we are delivering true value to our customers.”

AVANCE L5 connects to the Gogo Biz 4G network, delivering high-speed data and enhanced network capacity, enabling a more robust experience for activities such as streaming video and audio, email with attachments, personal smartphone use, and real-time data for cockpit apps while in flight.

AVANCE L5 also comes equipped with Gogo Vision, the industry’s leading inflight entertainment (IFE) solution.

“Our partnership with Embraer continues to play an important role in Gogo’s overall success and today’s announcement is the latest example of Embraer’s commitment and focus on improving the customer experience by providing our industry-leading inflight connectivity solution,” said Mark Sander, vice president of OEM sales for Gogo.

“Gogo AVANCE L5 is the next step in a product roadmap that will continue to provide leading communication solutions to the business aviation industry.”

Created specifically for the business aviation market, the Gogo Biz 4G network is built on Gogo’s existing ground network of more than 250 towers and fiber backhaul, which has provided connectivity for hundreds of thousands of flight hours aboard thousands of business and commercial aircraft.

The AVANCE L5 equipment package will incorporate dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi service and a host of other features – all from a single box.

AVANCE SCS is a suite of smart cabin system capabilities that let users integrate – seamlessly and reliably – a personal mix of technologies to create a cabin experience that is unique and ideal for them.

Whether that’s enabling moving maps so passengers can track their flight, or premiering a single interface that passengers can use to engage with a fully connected cabin – users decide what smart looks like, and SCS does the rest.

“Full integration with in-flight cabin and entertainment systems allows for a seamless customer experience,” Froes said.

AVANCE SCS Elite is a router and media server available for business aviation. As a high-speed router, SCS Elite allows passengers to maximize the available bandwidth from any of their onboard connectivity options.

As an always up-to-date media server, SCS Elite puts the latest in-flight entertainment news, movies and moving maps at the passengers’ fingertips and on their personal devices.
